COVID-19

In view of the current COVID-19 situation where the Ministry of Health has officially declared DORSCON Orange, we would like to reassure clients and families that our services will be continuing as usual with additional measures in place regarding the various services.

Day Care Centres

  1. All clients and staff who have traveled overseas will be required to serve a Stay Home Notice from the day of arrival in Singapore.
  2. All large-group volunteering activities are also suspended for the time-being.
  3. Only one family caregiver or helper per client is allowed into the centres at any one time.
  4. All clients will have their temperature taken twice daily.
  • Clients who are unwell will be sent to see the nearest doctor as per the centre’s protocols.
  • In the event of a medical emergency, the centre will call for an ambulance as per our protocols.
  1. All staff will have their temperature taken twice daily.
  • Staff who are unwell are requested to see a doctor immediately and not to report to work.
  • Staff are to update centre’s management after seeing the doctor and follow MOH protocols on reporting back to work.
  • All staff who are in client areas are to wear surgical masks at all times, on top of Personal Protection Equipment used in their daily course of work.
  1. All visitors are screened.
  • Visitors who display one of the following symptoms in the last one week are not allowed into the centre. Visitors will have their temperatures taken on arrival at the centre.

    • Fever (Temperature of more than 38 degrees Celsius) / Cough / Breathing difficulties / Shortness of breath / Constant sneezing

(Even if temperature is below 38 degrees Celsius and visitor is visibly unwell, staff will make assessment on letting visitor in on the basis of safe-guarding client and staff.)

  • All visitors must declare travel history and health status.
  • All visitors who have traveled overseas in the last 14 days are suppose to be serving a Stay Home Notice at their declared place of residence.
  • Visitors must provide personal information in the event of contact-tracing activation.

Subsidised Home Care Services

  1. All clients and staff who have traveled overseas will be required to serve a Stay Home Notice from the day of arrival in Singapore.
    Service will not proceed for these clients until the end of the 14-day period. 
  1. All home care staff who are feeling unwell and/or display symptoms are to report to the Home Care Management team and see a doctor immediately.
  • Fever (Temperature of more than 38 degrees Celsius) / Cough / Breathing difficulties / Shortness of breath / Constant sneezing
  1. All clients will be screened before start of scheduled service.
  • Fever (Temperature of more than 38 degrees Celsius) / Cough / Breathing difficulties / Shortness of breath / Constant sneezing
  1. All staff attending to clients are required to wear surgical masks at all times during service, on top of Personal Protection Equipment used in their daily course of work.

 

For All

  1. All clients, staff and visitors are reminded to maintain good personal hygiene and adhere to the infection control protocols established across all services.
  2. All new clients referred to our services from referral sources are required by MOH to be assessed as clinically stable and has no active respiratory conditions prior.

Active Global will also undertake necessary screening when receiving newly referred clients.

  1. As of 10th March 2020, the latest advisory from MOH expands the suspect case criteria to be:
  • A person with clinical signs and symptoms suggestive of pneumonia or severe respiratory infection with breathlessness AND travelled abroad to any country within the last 14 days.
  • A person with an acute respiratory illness of any degree of severity who, within 14 days before onset of illness, had been to a hospital in the above affected areas or had close contact (defined as anyone who provided care for patient or stayed with someone) with a case of COVID-19 infection.
  1. In the event of an emergency, we will reach out to the next-of-kin or emergency contact.

If contact persons are not able to be reached despite multiple attempts, Active Global will proceed with emergency protocols to assure the safety of both client and staff.

While the COVID-19 situation is on-going, we will continue to work closely with our clients and their families to ensure the continuation of care services.
